Many interviews and much field research in the Kampong Cham province underpin this historical account of the (Muslim) Cham community's experience during the Khmer Rouge regime. Brief and catastrophic rebellions which took place in 1975, 1978 and 1979 are described. The slaughter, forced immigrations and anti-religious actions of the period are dealt with in clear and measured terms.
