The career of dancer and dance educator Carl Wolz (1932-2002) was a major force in the modern development of dance in the Asia Pacific region. He was founder of the Asia Pacific Dance Alliance, now the World Dance Alliance. Interviews with 50 dance artists, varied perspectives of cities and educators, and country-based articles together offer a picture of the dynamic dance scene in Asia. Many issues of importance in global cultural development are also discussed.
