Some 300 magnificent photographs show aspects of the traditions and life of the Kayan-Ke Khaung (or Padaung) and other people of the mountainous borderland of Northern Myanmar. Many of the traditional customs and ways of dress and adornment which are likely to die out under modern pressures are here recorded in full colour. The author's sometimes idiosyncratic commentary gives a personal flavour to his discussion of the life and economy of the area.
