Of Dreams, Sweat, and Tears: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Modern Filipino Heroes. This account of the history and present roles of the Philippine population in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is by a senior officer of the Philippine Embassy with long experience in the country. After a summary history of the Kingdom and its relations with the Philippines, the circumtances and policies surrounding the growth of the Philippine presence from very few in 1960 to the present one million plus are overviewed. Guidance is given on the regulations facilities, pit falls and patterns of life affecting Filipinos who range from lone domestic workers to senior professionals and their families. Descriptions are given of some of the enforcements, disasters and penalities (including executions) which can be applied and also of Filipino heroes and martyrs who who have peopled recent history.
