Published in conjunction with the 1990-91 Festival of Indonesia in the United States, this collection of eleven short stories by Indonesian writers -- including the celebrated novelist Umar Kayam -- are set entirely or in part in the United States.  More than anything else, they represent individual responses to new situations and problems.
