The author of this book was the daughter of the renowned French conservator of Angkor, Henri Marchal. At the tender age of 23 in 1927, she produced this study on the devata reliefs of Angkor. Her annotated and intricate line drawings of their costumes, ornaments and their headdress have been described as being clearer than film. This is the first time this impressive work is available in English.
