In 2003 the noted photographer Basil Pao and cineaste/writer Michael Palin journeyed for six months for 3000 miles along the length of the Himalayas from Khyber Pass to Brahmaputra Delta. They passed through areas of Pakistan, Kashmir, India, Nepal, Tibet, China, Burma, Bhutan and Bangladesh and experienced extremes of attitude and climate. These 300 photographs with commentary present the terrain and life of the people in some of the world's most inaccessible regions. (And the Afterword speaks of less tangible impacts of the journeying).
