Focas 6: Regional Animalities - Cultures, Natures, Humans & Animals in Southeast Asia. This is the 6th and last volume of Focas - Forum on Contemporary Art & Society - and it is a welcome collection of stimulating and substantial articles. The main theme of this issue, Regional Animalities, concerns ways in which human/animal places, spaces, ecologies and exchanges are imagined, represented and performed in a range of historic and contemporary contexts in Southeast Asia. Thirteen contributors in section 1 examine this theme. In the second section, the subject of discussion is art and activism in Singapore, 2004 to 2006. Section 3 reports on key incidences of censorship in the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia over the last two years. The final section contains tributes to Krishen Jit, Pramoedya Ananta Toer and Redza Piyadasa, who all passed away in the years between the publication of focas 5 and 6.
