This collection of 16 illustrated papers complements the 2012 ongoing exhibition "Dangerous and Divine, Secrets of the Serpent" at the Afrika Museum, Bergen Dal, Holland. Illustrated with artefacts from the exhibition, the specialists' papers explore worldwide the place of snakes in the symbolisms of magic and religion, in art, culture, psychotherapy, in ancient artefacts and also in real life.
