Aung Kyaw Htet (b. 1965) comes from a rice-growing village in the Ayeyarwaddi Delta and is now a sought-after artist in Yangon. Illustrated background and articles on Myanmar history and culture and on Aung's life and career and on Myanmar's Buddhist culture are followed by some 70 full-page plates of his paintings. These show sensitive and rich perceptions of daily life and faith.
