Published in conjunction with the exhibition "The Single Leaf: Woodblock Printmaking" held at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. The relationship between prints and craftsmanship, as well as social concerns of the time take centrestage as the art publication traces the demonstration of this art form in Nanyang's history and artistic legacy. This volume numbers 128 fully-illustrated pages and provides an insight on the development of the traditional craft in Asia in the 20th and 21st century, showcasing 14 selected artists who have chosen to create in this art form. Featuring 54 woodblock prints and blocks from 1952 to 2012, the works demonstrate various interpretations and styles found in the woodblock as a print medium. There are conventional prints from the 1950s and 1960s, which typically contain simple compositions by renowned local artists such as Ong Tian Soo, Tan Tee Chie, Aw Tee Hong, Cheong Soo Pieng, Tay Chee Toh, Eng Joo Heng as well as Vietnamese Tran van Quen.
