From Pakistan to New Zealand, Mongolia to Australia, the contemporary art of the Asia Pacific stands out for its complexity, richness and sheer diversity. The Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) Foundation Signature Art Prize is a juried prize that recognises the single most outstanding contemporary visual artwork produced in the preceding three years within the region. The APB Foundation Signature Art Prize 2011 catalogue is a handsome hardbound and fully illustrated publication which features the 15 Finalists artworks as well as all the 130 artworks nominated for the second edition of the Prize. It serves as an excellent survey of some of the most important works to emerge out from the Asia Pacific region in the last three years, and includes key works by established and emerging practitioners. It features a curatorial essay, as well as write-ups and statements by the Finalist artists and nominators, offering fascinating insights into the Finalist works, including the Grand Prize, four Jurors' Choice Awards, and People's Choice Award winners.
