The Sejarah Kerajaan Melayu Patani was published in the town of Pasir Putih in Malaya, just after the Second World War. Nothing is known about the pseudonymous author, except that he is a Thai Muslim. His work describes the great glory of the days of the sultanate in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, under its curiously named queens designated by different colours, followed by its decline under a series of weak sultans, and its "reawakening".
