These seven papers are written as a tribute to the late Sivakant Tiwari, whose 2010 death ended is nearly 40 years as Singapore's leading practitioner of public international law. The papers include: an overview of the international law issues which impacted on Singapore in the early years of independence; retroviews of these issues and events by three of the leading lawyers involved; a reprints of three articles written by senior practitioners at the time the events were taking place.
