About This Book
This study of the potentials of sustainability science in the watershed areas of the Asia Pacific Region is based on work done at the 2007 Hawaii conference. In 14 papers, 31 specialists explore four themes related to watershed areas: Sustainability Science for resource management and policy; approaches to monitoring and modelling; participatory approaches including partnerships and community involvement patterns; and finally, case studies from the Golden Triangle, Japan, Hawaii, Pacific Island watersheds. Pointers for action and research are discussed in the final article.
