This is a 2009 reprint of Tael Lights. First published in 1936, it was a lively guidebook to the seamier side of Shanghai in the mid-1930s, when it was at its most outrageous. The authors, two dissolute foreigners living life to the fullest, stress the nightlife but nevertheless provide a helpful guide to life in old Shanghai.
