by O'donovan, Patricius
About This Book
Diaries written 1972-45 form the basis of this account of the WWII years of Singapore-based Patricius O'Donovan (1911-2001) a Lasalle Christian Brother. He was teaching at St. Joseph's Institution when Singapore fell. He went with other Neutrals & Eurasians to the desperately hard conditions of the Japanese-run agricultural settlement of Bahau. He describes the unrelenting challenges, bitterly frustrated hopes and remarkable gaiety which made up this often chaotic chapter of his long and remarkable life.
