This is a edited collection of diary entries by Dutch paediatrician Diny van Bruggen, M.D., who worked respectively in the refugee camps in Thailand, as a medical doctor in Phnom Penh and in many small-scale development projects in Cambodia, from the end of 1999 up to 2003, the years that the AIDS epidemic became visible. The emphasis of the book is on the projects dealing with the care for dying AIDS patients and the many AIDS orphans.
