About This Book
Lim Tzay Chuen, a Singapore artist, has completed projects for the prestigious Biennale three times - in Gwangju in 2002 and in Sydney in 2004 and in Vienna in 2005. For the 2005 Biennale, Lim famously proposed moving the 70-tonne Merlion, the most well known of Singapore's tourism icons, from its concrete moorings in downtown Singapore all the way to Venice. This book, voluble yet spare with words, contains illustrations and short descriptions of the Lim's realised and unrealised projects. An essay on Lim's art, written by Ray Langenbach, is also included.
