About This Book
The Operation Hope Foundation (OHF) is a Singapore-based charity started informally by a businessman and now runs or manages other enterprises in Cambodia, Nepal and Laos (www.ohf.org.sg). This volume is not the conventional report of a voluntary welfare organisation. It is a 220-page album of text and colour photographs which goes wandering with the reader through the world in which OHF functions. We see poverty and happiness, the life of children receiving care, education and training, the context from which they came and their preparations and hopes for the future, and also the roles played by staff and volunteers. Poems and quotes enrich the evidence that something positive is being achieved (and without personality cults or self-aggrandising publicity!).
