About This Book
The Singapore Perspective conferences of the Institute of Policy Studies are regular annual events. These ten papers from the January 2007 conference offer fresh and sometimes controversial perspectives on matters of immediate relevance to Singaporeans and others. The four major sections are on: the New and Dual Economy; the New Politics of Identity, which includes issues connected with migration, social diversity and the arts; New Technologies and Social Change, including informal public spheres; and New Asean, including discussion of the long or short-term viability of the Association.
