About This Book
There are some four million single women in Vietnam (total population 54.5 million). This study identifies the social factors leading to singlehood, which is normally seen as a sad fate. The present circumstances of single women, and the nature of support measures from the family, the community and the state are described and future goals for action discussed. The appendix sets out summary interviews with 19 single women.
