About This Book
Waqf is an Islamic practice in which property is held in such a way that all revenues from the property is turned over to a mosque or a charity. This book looks at the history of waqf in Malaysia, the legal provisions for waqf and issues connected to its administration, with emphasis on the role of the State Islamic Religious Councils as the sole trustees of waqf assets and the problems that confront the Councils.
This book is part of the author's doctoral thesis submitted in 2000 to the University of Birmingham, England.
