About This Book
Like other pictorials about Singapore, this pictorial features postcard-perfect snaps of Singapore. But unlike other pictorials, this book does not show the island at its immaculately-brushed best. Instead it shows a side of Singapore that not many visitors get to see. The photographer captures the island and its people unawares and looking a little scruffy: grimy, lived-in walkups; our aged folks hard at work; the last of the cottage industries; and a siesta on our beloved "five foot way". Although there are few words except for some captions, the photographs do the talking. They are "slices" of Singapore, enabling you to look at Singapore from the outside and take a peek at a bit of the inside as well.
