Food Security In Asian Countries: In The Context Of Millennium Goals
by Vyas, Vijay S (Ed.)
About This Book
This study of food security arises from the world's 2000 Millennium Goals and seeks to assess what progress has been made in Asia towards their achievements. Two least developed countries (Cambodia and Nepal), two changing medium-income countries (Indonesia and Thailand) and one large, fast-developing country (India) were selected for coordinated locally-based research under the aegis of the Asian Development Research Forum. A chapter is devoted to each country and pointers for action and policy drawn from the evidence of progress or reverse in each area. General issues of regional cooperation, use of natural resources and knowledge-sharing are also discussed. Bibliography.
