Magosaha: An Ethnography Of The Tawi-Tawi Sama Dilaut
by Nimmo, H. Arlo
About This Book
The author has done fieldwork amongst the nomadic boat dwellers, the Sana Dilaut (often known as Bajau) of Tawi-Tawi, at various times since the 1960s. This systematic ethnography is a clear presentation of a way of life, which, while it no longer exists in the Philippines, is an important element in the country's history and development. The epilogue discusses the ethnic strife, population movements and commercial developments, which has led the Sama Dilaut now to become house-dwellers. With bibliography, translated chants, and index.
