1. Our prices
Our prices are expressed in both US and Singapore dollars. Please note, however, that the total amount -- which is what will be billed to you -- will be in Singapore dollars.

2. Availability of books:
With a few exceptions, all titles listed on our website are stocked by Select. Because we are also a retail shop, we may happen to sell out a title. If that is the case, re-orders can be placed and fulfilled within a week to eight weeks - depending on origin of supply. Books from "non-traditional" sources, eg: Myanmar, Vietnam, or Indonesia may take longer.

4. How to pay?
Select accepts payment by credit card or by cheque/bankdraft.

Individuals: please pay by credit card. Amex, Visa and Mastercard are accepted. Please provide these card particulars:
Type of card
Cardholder's name
Card number
Date of expiry

Institutions: Select accepts payment by cheque/bankdraft, drawn on a bank in Singapore, in Singapore dollars, bank charges must be borne by sender. Cheques should be made out to: Select Books Pte Ltd.

*5. Shipping and handling costs:*
Purchaser bears outward shipping and handling costs. Our shipping charges are based on actual weight-based rates.

For orders that are shipped to overseas addresses, a handling cost of $5.00 per order or 10% of total of book order, whichever is higher, will be levied.

For orders that are shipped to local addresses, the handling cost will be waived.

Due to the slowness of surface mail, we are offering only airmail shipment. If you wish to use surface mail, please indicate in your remarks or email us and we can calculate the charges for you. We also encourage customers to use courier service to destinations where mail delivery is unreliable. We reserve the right to quote a higher fee for courier service, but we will email you to indicate that this service is available.

6. Returns/Refunds/Exchange/Claims policy
All sales made through our website are final. No returns, refunds or exchanges will be entertained EXCEPT for the following circumstances:

A) Full refund
  1. your books arrive damaged
  2. wrong titles are supplied
  3. wrong address supplied by Select Books

In instances of damage, Select Books will require the customer to send back the cover and title page. Please inform us before undertaking the return.

B) Refund on book costs only
  1. when the wrong address is supplied by the customer
  2. when the shipment arrives but is unclaimed from the post office

In these instances, Select will refund customers the cost of the book, once the book has been rerouted back to us in Singapore. There will be no refund on the postage or the handling charge.
